Our Mission

Our goals at QPL go beyond rocketry. We want to showcase the incredible talent in Northern
Ireland and demonstrate that we have what it takes to shape the future of the
UK space economy.

          Our mission is to:

Represent Northern Ireland on a national and international stage
Provide students with practical experience in designing, building, and launching rockets
Promote STEM education among younger generations in Northern Ireland
Collaborate with industry partners and develop links to their business

Outreach & engagement

We’re dedicated to helping engineers and scientists in Northern Ireland grow. Through outreach, we aim to inspire and educate the next generation, giving them the skills they need to succeed. By connecting with local communities and schools, we’re building a stronger STEM community in Northern Ireland.

QPL is engaged in outreach with the UK Youth Rocketry Challenge. It provides secondary school student teams, a realistic experience in designing a flying aerospace vehicle that meets a specified set of mission and performance requirements.

Professional Development

We prioritize the professional development of our members by highlighting external training opportunities beyond the university setting.

These include ESA Academy Training Courses and the International Space University (ISU), providing valuable industry exposure and networking opportunities for all QPL members.

Creating a skilled space workforce benefits not only the Northern Irish economy but also the wider UK and European industry.
