Our Vision
Queen’s Propulsion Laboratory is proud to be Northern Ireland’s leading student-run rocketry team. Our journey began with a simple idea: to create a team that pushes the boundaries of aerospace innovation.
But our mission at QPL goes beyond rocketry. We want to showcase the incredible talent in Northern Ireland and demonstrate that we have what it takes to shape the future of the UK Space economy.
By bringing together Northern Irelands scientific and engineering resources, we’re determined to lead the way in aerospace innovation and demonstrate to the world what Northern Ireland is capable of achieving.
The New Space sector presents exciting opportunities for innovation and exploration. By establishing a university rocketry program, our members can leverage this growing industry to gain hands-on experience and practical skills.
We work with the Northern Irish Space Special Interest Group (NISSIG) to represent student’s place in the industry which they will graduate into. Through this medium, QPL directly engages with key stakeholders from industry and government.
QPL is also continuously liaising with Queen’s University Belfast to ensure that space is suitably covered by the curriculum of not only Aerospace Engineering but any program which has applications for the growing space industry.
