Recovery Engineer
Position Overview
As a Recovery Engineer you will be responsible for the survival of the rockets QPL launches, the systems you design and the analysis you do will make sure that the rockets can be safely launched and recovered without damage to the rocket or surroundings. We are in the process of developing our own in house ejection system and need people who show initiative and ambition, learn quickly, and bring sound ideas.
Responsibilities
- CAD – Design and creation of components for manufacture
- Ground testing of recovery systems.
- Simulating rocket trajectories to predict recovery sites.
- Construction of systems such as parachutes, shock chords and rapid ejection charges
- Programming (potential to work closely with the avionics team to create a script that detects apogee and triggers the ejection charge.)
- Creating Technical Drawings
Useful Skills
- SolidWorks- Proficiency in SolidWorks for creating detailed and accurate 3D models.
- MATLAB– Experience working on data analysis, simulation, and algorithm development.
- Coding experience (C+, Python etc)-
- Excel – Proficiency in organizing and analysing data, creating spreadsheets, and generating reports
