Position Overview  

As a testing engineer you will be overseeing all of the critical tests QPL conducts to ensure our designs are safe and work as intended. Testing spans across all our competitions, regardless of discipline, and involves supporting other sub-teams in planning, setting up and conducting  tests ranging from measuring material properties to  trialing parachute ejection systems. This role requires good organisational skills to handle the logistics of an experiment as well as a keen eye for safety, especially for more ‘destructive’ tests !

Responsibilities

• Preparation and writing of test reports
• Design and construction of test stands/rigs
• Analysing and interpreting of data generated during tests
•  Organising of test facilities and required materials
• Compilation of  risk assessments and general health and safety documentation

Useful Skills

• SolidWorks – Proficiency in SolidWorks for creating detailed and accurate 3D models.
• Practical experience with hands-on project work
• Coding experience (MATLAB, Python etc) 
• Excel – Proficiency in organizing and analysing data, creating spreadsheets, and generating reports
